Best Barbershop to Work at in San Diego

Every shop says it's the best place to work. Here are the questions worth asking any of them, including us.

Choosing where to work is one of the biggest decisions a barber makes, and most of the information out there is marketing. So rather than tell you we're the best, here are the things that actually separate a good shop from a bad one — and where we honestly land on each.

How fast will your book fill?

This is the one that decides your income. On your own it takes years. At a shop with real systems behind it, far less. Ask any shop what they actually do to fill a new barber's chair, and listen for specifics rather than encouragement.

Here, booking and rebooking systems and the team around you are built to move you toward a full book quickly. We won't promise you one on day one — nobody honest would — but it's an achievable goal rather than a years-long grind.

Who handles the marketing?

In most shops, the answer is you, in your own time, with your own phone. We have a full content studio in the shop, plus photos, video, consultations and a complete content strategy. It's a whole lot easier to deliver your best behind the chair when somebody else is carrying that for you.

Is there anything after "busy"?

Plenty of barbers get busy and stay exactly there for a decade. Ask what the shop offers once your book is full. Ours is a path to educator, shop owner, or high-ticket service provider if that's what you want — our number one goal is taking barbers beyond booked and busy.

Will anyone make you better?

Continued education is part of how this shop runs. We invest in our barbers' success, and the training here is aimed at making you an elite career barber rather than just keeping your chair full this week.

Where we're not the right fit

If you want to be handed a chair and left alone, we're probably not your shop. If you're too shy to be in front of a camera and not willing to learn, the media side will grate on you. We'd rather say that now than six weeks in.

Think you'd be a match?

Tell us about yourself and your work. It takes about two minutes.

Questions, answered

What makes a barbershop good to work at?

Realistically: how fast your book fills, who handles marketing, whether anyone invests in your skills, and whether there's a path beyond being busy.

Do you help new barbers build a clientele?

Yes. The booking and rebooking systems and the team around you are built to move you toward a full book far faster than going it alone.

What's the pay like?

Competitive - our barbers make money. We'll go through the details with you when we meet.

Is there room to grow?

Yes - educator, shop owner, or high-ticket service provider, if that's the direction you want.

How do I find out if it's a fit?

Fill out the Work With Us form and come by the shop. It has to be right both ways.
